From March 19, 2009, S-Fone announced that 10 applications, based on the BREW Solution have been officially launched in Vietnam for its 095 subscribers with BREW-enabled handsets. These new BREW applications include Football news, Market news, Press review, Sites search, Restaurant search, Café shop search, Fun stories, English-Vietnamese Dictionary and Tetris game. This launch highlights S-Fone’s interest in popularizing BREW-based applications in Vietnam as well as the advance of S-Fone in providing interesting valued-added services to customers.

In addition, 11 more BREW applications will be launched from April - May including ColorRing, Ringtone browser, IOD (information-on-demand), Yahoo Messenger, Photo up loader and Lego. To create more opportunities for customers to make choices and get familiar with the applications, S-Fone will provide a demo version for 095 subscribers to download and trial in either one day or five times before buying the official version.

In April 2008, Qualcomm and S-Fone cooperated to research and develop data services based on BREW for S-Fone’s mobile subscribers with a hope to offer them a chance to approach a wide range of high-grade value-added services like music, ringtones, information and games. In December 2008, S-Fone successfully tested the deployment of BREW-based applications on four common handset series namely Motorola W362, eCo 300, eCo 332  and eCo C2601.

Qualcomm’s BREW solution enables the development and delivery of advanced wireless data content to a wide array of devices and is bringing high-grade mobile services to the Vietnam market.  BREW combines a deeply integrated client with a proven secure retail ecosystem and allows operators access to applications and services developed on BREW devices around the world.

            BREW-based handsets in this launch are Motorola W362, eCo 300, eCo 332, eCo C2601, eCo C2806 and eCo SD3530.  In case the handsets of above model were bought before Dec 2008, customers can bring their devices back to S-Fone to be updated to work with BREW.
